Sauni mo le aoga (Getting Ready to School)
We learned a lot from this book Getting Ready to School. The story was told in the gagana Samoa and it was written from the Samoan way of life. We compared the life in Samoa to New Zealand. In Samoa when children starts school they takes a broom, fine mats and a woven bag made out of flax. In New Zealand we used modern school bags, we carry lunch in containers or lunch boxes and we have book bag to carry our books.
We are proud to be Samoan and we learned how to make a Samoan broom out of the coconut leaves. We made mats using papers, we learned new words everyday we read and write. Here are some of our activities learned from the book- Sauni mo le aoga.
